Karl Petrie, D.C., C.S.C.S.
Dr. Karl Petrie is from Toronto, Canada. He is a graduate of York University in Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree with his disciplines being Kinesiology and Urban Development. Upon graduation he moved to Chicago, Illinois to attend The National University of Health Sciences (N.U.H.S.). While at N.U.H.S. he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with a focus in human biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. During that time he also earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credentials from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as his Certified Golf Fitness Instruction certificate from the Golf Institute.
Upon graduation from N.U.H.S. he moved to Radford, Virginia to start a clinic on the Radford University campus and also work with the University as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and eventually ice hockey coach during the 2004 season.
While submersed in his education he also enjoyed helping people of all fitness levels with their fitness/ athletic/ conditioning goals. He has designed programs, helped manage nutritional needs, worked one on one and in groups with many aspiring to get healthier and feel better. He has also helped people with special circumstances such as fibromyalgia patients, establish and execute exercise programs that help them achieve a better quality of life. He has worked with athletes of all levels and helped them improve their conditioning and essentially their sports performance. His knowledge and love of health and fitness has allowed him to help many reach their goals, whatever they may be!
When injuries do occur Dr Petrie utilizes his strong educational background as well as his extensive athletic background in hockey and football to get people on the right path to health. His own history allows him a great understanding of the desire that athletes and weekend warriors have to get back on the field and to not let injuries inhibit performance. Due to his excellent training and personal experience with many issues he prides himself on developing treatment plans that work quickly to keep everyone happy, whether they are office workers or construction workers or elite athletes! Dr. Tannaz Farnoudi D.C., ATC
Dr. Tannaz Farnoudi is originally from Tehran, Iran. She moved to Fairfax, VA when she was eight years old. She grew up in the area and went to Chantilly high school where she sparked an interest in anatomy and sports medicine. After receiving her Associates Degree in Science from Northern Virginia Community College, Dr. Farnoudi attended George Mason University to receive her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training, becoming a board-certified Athletic Trainer. Soon after she went on to graduate with honors from New York Chiropractic College where she obtained her Doctorate in Chiropractic and became licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine and is Board Certified in both Chiropractic and physiotherapy. Throughout her educational experience Dr. Farnoudi worked at many Chiropractic and Physical therapy offices where she gained clinical experience. She has returned to serve the neighborhood that has served her so well for 20 years! Dr. Farnoudi treats a variety of conditions and enjoys treating all types of patients! As a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA), Dr. Farnoudi keeps up to date with all the new evidence based research when treating her patients. Dr. Farnoudi enjoys volunteering and working with various adolescent sport teams in preventing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries on and off the field. She has worked with competitive athletic teams in various sports such as football, basketball, lacrosse, and hockey.
Having worked next door at Franklin Farm Giant Pharmacy for eight years throughout high school and college, Dr. Farnoudi knows Herndon and its patrons well. She is thrilled to continue her relationship with the Herndon and Northern VA community as the newest member of the American Health and Wellness Center team!
As a diehard fan, it pained her to see the Washington Redskins suffer so many injuries this past season. As a trainer, however…if they ever need some extra help, they are welcome to give her a call.

I grew up in Manassas, VA. I did competitive gymnastics for 10 years and I’m now a college student studying to be an X-Ray Technician. I’ve been working here at American Health & Wellness Center since October 2015.

I am from Chantilly, VA and grew up right down the street! I graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a Concentration in Studio Arts. I love fitness and ran competitively in Track & Field/Cross- County all four years of college. I have been working at American Health & Wellness Center since October 2015.
